Cluny - Aberdeenshire

Potential early monastic site. The peat location was identified by Robin Worsman and permission to core was granted by Cosmo from Cluny estate.

Core team: Robin Worsman, Nicolas Ravasi, Sandra Davison & myself). The site on historical maps didn't look promising but risk is part of the Leverhulme grant so we decided to try it and managed to extract a 4 m core.

Samples have been sent to Belfast for 14C dating and if the dates come back good either myself or Tim Mighall will undertake the analysis.

Unfortunately dates came back too old, but the core will now be used for a PhD project.
